The second edition of Nyimbo zaKwatu was a celebration of creativity in its many forms, bringing together artists from different disciplines to share one stage and one purpose: celebrating African culture through authentic expression.
Following the successful inaugural edition earlier this year, Edition II welcomed audiences for an unforgettable evening featuring nine remarkable creatives. The programme showcased performances by Mary Anibal, Josh Meck, Wowrae, Skai & the Legacy Band, Khaya Lami Band, USAP Mbira Club, Thithukani Ndlovhu, Linda Gabriel and Matamba Film Labs for Women.
Each artist brought something unique to the experience. From contemporary music to traditional mbira, spoken storytelling and visual media, the evening highlighted the diversity that continues to define Zimbabwe's creative landscape.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the event was witnessing artists connect beyond their performances. Conversations sparked new collaborations, while audiences had the opportunity to engage directly with the creatives whose work they admire.
That sense of community has become one of Nyimbo zaKwatu's defining qualities.
Since its beginnings, the platform has been about more than hosting performances. It exists to create meaningful experiences where culture, creativity and dialogue come together.
Edition II demonstrated how powerful those experiences can be when artists from different backgrounds are given space to inspire one another. As the platform continues to grow, we remain committed to creating opportunities that celebrate both tradition and innovation while strengthening Zimbabwe's vibrant creative community.
