Nyimbo zaKwatu

est 2023

A cultural platform celebrating Africa's rich artistic heritage through music, poetry, dance, and storytelling. Rooted in Zimbabwe, resonating across the continent.

Our Story

Our Music. Our Culture. Our Community.

Nyimbo zaKwatu meaning "Our Music" in the Sena language was born in June 2023 from a series of intimate concerts curated by Zimbabwean artist and educator Mary Anibal. What began as personal performance spaces quickly evolved into something far larger.

Recognising a gap in accessible platforms for artists committed to cultural preservation, Mary expanded the vision to include musicians, poets, spoken word artists, dancers, visual artists, and women entrepreneurs across Zimbabwe and the continent.

Officially rebranded in March 2025, Nyimbo zaKwatu has since attracted over 800 attendees, creating lasting artistic connections and affirming the power of African creativity.
